Dr. Salon was born and raised in the Traverse City area. After graduating from Traverse City High School in 1984 he attended The University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree which he achieved in 1988. The journey to his doctorate took an interesting turn when he decided to attend Ohio State University. Upon graduating from OSU with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1992 he opened his own practice, Grand Traverse Dental Care in January of 1993.
Maureen has been working for Dr. Salon since 1999. She and her husband Phil have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. She enjoys cooking and camping with her family.

Jason has been working for Dr. Salon since 2001. He and his wife Maggie have two boys, Dexter (age 7) and Oliver (age 4). He enjoys cooking, fishing, biking, and camping.
